The eligible male candidate should be a bachelor for grant of Permanent Commission in Executive Branch [Naval Armament Inspectorate Cadre (NAIC)] and Short Service Commission (SSC) in Executive Branch viz. General Service/Hydro and Technical Branch (General Service) in the Indian Navy for January 2020 course. The course will be conducted at Indian Naval Academy (INA) Ezhimala, Kerala. Indian Navy Recruitment – Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit: The candidate should be born between 2nd January 1995 and 1st July 2000 (both dates inclusive).

Educational Qualifications

  • Who Can Apply: Candidates who have passed the examination and have received an Engineering Degree or are in the final year of their Engineering course in any of the below-mentioned disciplines can apply for Indian Navy Recruitment 2019. They should have done their engineering from a recognised educational institute with at least 60% marks till 5th/7th semester in regular/integrated course respectively.
  • Call up for Service Selection Board(SSB): Candidates will be issued Call Up for Service Selection Board (SSB) interview based on their academic performance till 5th/7th semester for all eligible regular/integrated course respectively.
  • Minimum percentage required for Joining Indian Naval Army: The candidates are required to pass their final exam (BE/B Tech) with a minimum of 60% before joining the Indian Naval Army. The candidates failing to meet the minimum cut off percentage will not be permitted to join the Indian Naval Army in Ezhimala.

Indian Navy Recruitment Selection Procedure

  • IHQ of MoD shortlists applications and fixes cut off/ based on the percentage of marks obtained in BE/B. Tech. The selected candidates would be called for an interview. The SSB interview that is for shortlisted candidates is scheduled at Bangalore/Bhopal/Coimbatore/Visakhapatnam during Apr 2019 – Jul 2019.
  • Selected candidates will be informed about their selection for the SSB interview either through e-mail or through SMS (that is provided by candidates in their application form).
  • SSB interview is conducted in two stages. Stage I test consists of Intelligence Test, Picture Perception and Discussion test. It will be conducted on the first day of arrival at SSB. Candidates who fail to qualify in Stage I will not be allowed to appear for Stage 2 and will be routed back on the same day. Stage II tests comprising of Psychological testing, Group testing and Interview. This Stage will last for about 4 days.
  • Candidates who are recommended for the SSB and are declared medically fit will be appointed for training as per all India merit of SSB marks. However, this will also depend on the number of vacancies. Change of SSB Centre for an interview is not permissible under any circumstance.

  • The promotion from Sub Lieutenant to Commander is on time scale basis and is subjected to completion of mandatory courses, sea time and medical condition. The PayScale and promotion as per 7th CPC.
